Disposal, reuse and repurposing of vehicles

Ideal Auto ensures that scrapped vehicles are handled in accordance with current environmental requirements and the national Waste Act. All vehicle owners have the option of handing over their old or unusable vehicle

to an authorised waste handler or an official collection point for proper disposal. These companies dismantle the vehicles in an environmentally friendly way, removing hazardous substances and sorting materials for reuse and repurposing. In most cases, handing over a scrapped vehicle is free of charge provided that the vehicle is in one piece and does not come with any unwanted waste.

The vehicle is broken up into parts, with environmentally hazardous materials like engine oil, brake fluid, batteries and other chemicals being removed. Materials suitable for recycling (metal, plastic and glass) are then sorted and sent on for reuse and repurposing. This approach minimises environmental impact and supports the circular economy.

The proper handling of scrapped vehicles is important not only for the protection of the environment, but also for the fulfilment of legal obligations. Vehicles that are improperly handled can pollute soil and groundwater, posing a risk to human health.
